An active exploration of team dynamics using problem solving challenges where key ‘breakthroughs’ in team thinking lead to success.

Program outline

Teams are presented with a series of ‘problem solving’ challenges, each carefully designed to explore communication and highlight aspects of team working that all too often go unnoticed!

Following an introductory icebreaker, the group is formed into teams ready to follow a tight schedule. After understanding the desired outcomes of each challenge, participants quickly evaluate the resources at hand, set realistic goals and reach a consensus on how these will be achieved.

The allocated time slots are ‘just enough’ to complete each challenge, so teams are pushed but remain motivated by their successes. Teams are encouraged to review their performance and take learning’s forward to the next challenge.

After completing their journey, the group is reunited for the final challenge. This can be competitive or collaborative so everyone is a winner.

Breakthrough is professionally presented in a menu format that can be tailored to venue, delegate number and specific business issues.

Learning and development outcomes

Breakthrough can be a platform for team profiling techniques such as Belbin or Myers-Briggs, and an in-depth review can draw out many other key learning’s, however, we often find that the activity outcomes speak for themselves.

In a comparatively short time teams learn about the basics of team working while individuals appreciate how their interpersonal styles may effect their team’s success.
